Konner Scott is an Atlanta-based freelance songwriter, composer, and instrumentalist. He draws influences from all varieties of music styles, which primarily include rock, classical, folk, blues, hip-hop, pop, and R&B. He boasts a prolific songwriting portfolio containing 300+ original tunes, the bulk of which cover a wide variety of genres and styles. He is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, specializing primarily in guitar and piano. In addition to his writing and performing background, Konner has a profound passion for music production and engineering, and during his free time, he also dabbles in rap and poetry.
Growing up in the Chicago area, Konner began playing classical piano at the age of two, and he hasn’t looked back since. He began writing music as soon as he could speak and won a number of classical music composition contests throughout his childhood, including a three-peat of the annual PTA Reflections Arts Program Competition. During junior high and high school, he started a YouTube channel devoted to his piano covers of popular classic rock songs, which at the time amassed hundreds of thousands of views.
Konner began teaching himself guitar at the age of thirteen and quickly formed a rock band with his childhood friends Elliott Kerbel and Ricky Havansek, later adding Kate McGinnis as a vocalist. The quartet’s band, Greenvan, has performed all over the country, including shows where they opened for groups such as Bad Suns and Kopecky. Their debut EP, entitled “Follow the Greenvan,” was released in May of 2016 and is available for streaming and download on Soundcloud.
Konner briefly stepped back from his music focus after he graduated high school in order to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was also a four-year competitor on the Varsity Swim Team. Despite his hectic schedule, he continued to write and perform as often as possible, including two sets at UPenn’s annual Spring Fling festival. These days, Konner consistently writes and performs with a multitude of Atlanta-based artists such as Septymber Fifteenth, SapioSounds, Angelina Sherie, Juice Moore, Dravius Dawkins, and many more. He also plays guitar and piano in the Atlanta-based band BBE (or the Benjamin Button Experiment) and continues to write and record his own solo material.
